This week, we are delighted to have the Executive Fashion Editor of Flair magazine Anja Tranninger sharing with us insider tips on her city, Vienna. A great way to find out about the local hot spots and to plan your next visit to the Austrian capital!

For a nice coffee break

Cafe Korb

Vienna is full of great traditional coffee shops so I prefer them to the hip ones. Cafe Korb is perfect for a coffee break after a shopping stroll through the first district. It has a really lively atmosphere and a totally mixed crowd.

Where?  Brandstätte 9, 1010 Wien

To grab a bite

Fuchs und die Trauben

A cosy and delicious Tapas bar. Take some friends, order all Tapas on the menu and finish with one or two (or three:) of their gin cocktails.

Where? Kandlgasse 16, 1070 wien

To shop till you drop

Comerc Store

A great selection of (mainly) Scandinavian fashion design, beauty and interior brands. Besides, they have my favourite denim label  BLK DNM in stock! Watch out for special events like Pop-up Stores or photo exhibitions which are taking place in their basement.

Where? Westbahnstraße 20, 1070 Wien

A purist and outstanding shop design by Gregor Eichinger and the greatest selection of high fashion brands in town makes the Concept store of Myung il Song worth a visit. But be prepared that you will live from water and bread the next months after your shopping spree there.

Where? Praterstraße 11-13, 1020 Wien

To get cultured

Galerie Nathalie Halgand

Recently my good friend Nathalie opened her own gallery space at Naschmarkt. Focusing on contemporary art with artists such as Simon Mullan and Clemens Behr it’s a must-visit for all art lovers.

Where? Stiegengasse 2/3 (Mezzanin), 1060 Vienna

To get a drink (or two)

Miranda Bar

Pastel colours, Scandinavian flair and the best cocktails in town. Head there after dinner at restaurant Finkh (which is right next to it) for a Moscow Mule.

Where? Austria, Esterhazygasse 12, 1060 Wien

To escape the city

Villa Antoinette and Looshaus

The Semmering area is an hour drive away from Vienna. Most people head there for skiing but it has a lot more to offer. Spend one night at Villa Antoinette which opened recently and offers a stunning interior mix, spa and outdoor pool. There is no better way to explore the work of famous architect Adolf Loos than spending one night in one of the individually designed rooms at Looshaus!

Where? Villa Antoinette, Gläserstrasse 9, 2680 Semmering
